I watch you
Pretending to be me
Invading my inner space
With your pain.
But the difference between us is that
You are your pain
Whereas I,
I just am.

The River Of Life

The deafening waterfall of silence
Crashes down upon me with a gentle caress.
I drown in the sweet freedom of the source flowing through me,
And surrender my breath to the river of life.

Shadow Hugs

I wheel around, stare my shadow full in the face.
I drag you around with me, I yell at it,
And yet I don’t know who you are.

I am an artist, it replies,
As it lifts its camera to take a picture of me.
You do not acknowledge me, but I will never leave you.

What do you want, I question it again.
What everyone wants, it says.
Love, acceptance, integration.

Then will you go away, I cry.
No, it tells me.
The more love you give me, the more love others will give you.

As I watch, it grows larger.
I am scared,
until I realise that it has merged with another.

Then he puts his arms around me too.
We hold each other, smile at the camera,
And take a picture of all of us together.

Morning Comes

Everything is worse at night
When you’re lying in the dark.
Morning comes, your fears subside
You’re left without a mark.

Close your eyes and think of me.
I’ll always be there for you.
Never let your fears take hold,
My image will protect you.

When you need me,
I’ll be there,
Always close,
Always with care.
Conjure up my face.
I never will be far.
I always will be present,
In your heart.

Paper Flowers

The amphitheatre waits.
You disappear down the rabbit hole.
Backstage. Understage. Where the magic is made.
I sit above watching the show.
Green trees.
Green leaves.
Paper flowers floating in the breeze.
But the one trick you couldn’t do,
Was to pull the coffee from your sleeves.

The Journey

The water supports you.
The captain guides you.
And I, on the shore, see you.
And wish you well.

We Are All Connected

I wait for you
In the warm cold light of morning.
We will sit together
With the ghosts of those who have shuffled their feet here before us,
And we will leave our thoughts in the air
For those who have yet to be.
